It’s time for tea at Hinxton Hall!

Explore the unique history and grounds of the Hinxton Hall estate, and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in one of our beautiful heritage rooms.

Hinxton Hall is located on the Wellcome Genome Campus, in Hinxton, not far from Saffron Walden. The Campus is now one of the world’s foremost centres of genome and biodata research. But it all started with the Hinxton Hall estate!

The grand family home of Hinxton Hall was built in 1748, and it had several owners before the estate was sold in 1953 and developed into an engineering and physics research laboratory. In 1992, Wellcome became the new owner, meticulously restoring the Georgian origins of the Hall and transformed the old stable block and kitchen garden into a purpose-built Conference Centre.

Join us for an afternoon tea in this beautiful venue of local heritage interest, for a combination of treats and history, exploring our exhibition, and enjoying the estate’s parkland.

We are open for tea and heritage (for the last time) on Saturday 9 March at 12-2pm (SOLD OUT) and 3-5pm.
